Beyond Burnout: Real Talk on Eating, Self-Nourishment and Recovery

LIVE WORKSHOP

coming Jan 2025

Are you feeling stuck in a cycle of burnout? Do you struggle to look after yourself when it feels like everything is too much?

If you’re nodding your head, you’re not alone - and this workshop is here to support you.

What to Expect

Join me (an actual real-life registered nutritionist!) for an evening of realistic, neuro-affirming strategies that go beyond “pushing through” burnout. We’ll dive deep into the complexities of burnout, including the impact it has on our ability to nourish ourselves. Together, we’ll explore:

  • Understanding Burnout: Why does burnout happen, and why do we get trapped in these cycles? Learn about the patterns and factors (like hormones, social pressures, and perfectionism) that make burnout feel so hard to overcome.

  • The Impact on Eating Habits: Fatigue, decision paralysis, and sensory overload can make planning and preparing food feel impossible. We’ll discuss why this happens and how to recognise the signs early.

  • Why Overcoming Burnout Isn’t Easy: Burnout disregulates our bodies and brains, making it difficult to meet our own needs. We’ll talk openly about why self-care feels out of reach when you’re burnt out.

  • Practical, Realistic Strategies: Discover how to build a toolkit that actually works for you. We’ll share neuro-affirming tips and create a simple “Looking After Myself Plan” to help make food and self-care more accessible.

Meet Mel

Mel is a neuro-affirming nutritionist, specialising in distressed eating, eating disorder recovery, menopause nutrition, and facilitating body image healing through non-diet nutrition and counseling. Her focus is on assisting people who experience challenges due to eating differences and anxiety related to food and the eating environment; those who struggle with sensory sensitivities, all-consuming thoughts about food, compulsive eating, food aversion or avoidance, repeated burnout, guilt and shame.

Who Is This Workshop For?

This workshop is designed with neurodivergent (ND) folks in mind - people who experience repeated burnout and struggle to care for themselves when it happens. If you feel stuck and hopeless when burnout hits, and find it difficult to make decisions around food and self-care, this session is for you.

You’ll leave with:

  • A deeper understanding of how burnout affects your body and mind.

  • Tips for recognising your unique signs of burnout before it spirals.

  • Practical strategies for making food and daily tasks more manageable.

  • A list of resources and tools for ongoing support.

Why Join Us?

The world often tells us to “just push through,” but that approach can feel impossible when you’re already overwhelmed. This workshop offers a compassionate, realistic exploration of burnout - helping you move away from shame and towards self-advocacy.

Together, we’ll challenge the narrative that you “should be able to handle it all.” Instead, we’ll focus on what’s realistic and sustainable for you.
